A Few Of My Favorite {Beauty Hacks}

So I’m sorry I haven’t been posting much lately, it’s been crazy at the Erdogan household this past few months. We put our house on the market at the beginning of November and accepted an offer 3 days later, which was just the beginning of the craziness. Then there were tons of people needing to come by for repairs, inspections, etc., etc. and the packing of our entire house…it was just busy every single day! Plus we traveled to Nashville for Thanksgiving! So we are finally moved out as of a few days ago! Now I can get a little bit of normalcy back in my life.

I dropped one of my favorite eye shadow palettes this morning on the bathroom floor and it busted several of the colors, which is just typical of my week, but then I remembered that it really isn’t a big deal because I can fix it! I’m sure several of you know what I’m talking about already, but for those of you who don’t, I’m going to let you in on a little secret.

Fixing A Broken Palette

It can be done! Don’t throw away your broken eye shadow palettes!!! Or your pressed powders. Or your brozers. All you need to do is go grab some rubbing alcohol and a few q-tips. Put a few drops of alcohol into each broken color and then use a q-tip to break it up and then press it back down. Let it dry. Voila! It’s no longer broken! Such a quick fix, and totally worth the work.

Out Of {Lip Scrub?}

Lip scrubs are something that I love to keep on hand at all times, but there have been a few times that I have gone to use it and realized I was out. No, you don’t need to drive all the way over to Sephora or Target to get a new one before applying your lipstick, you just need some vaseline and a disposable mascara wand! Dip out a small amount of vaseline onto the back of your hand, and then with the mascara wand, work the vaseline into your lips for a minute or two. Not a very cute stocking stuffer, but so easy and so cheap!

I don’t know about you, but when I’m almost out of my favorite mascara I want to make sure I get out every last bit of it! So I scrape the sides about 10 times before I finally give up and throw it out. BUT I just learned of a little tip that will change my days of scraping mascara tubes. Add a few drops of saline into the mascara tube and use the mascara brush to scrape the sides and mix it around. You can get several good uses out of it after that! Who knew?!
