Travel Must- Haves For The Tired Mommy

Traveling can be one of the most refreshing things for a mother, but if you are like me then you stress yourself out trying to pack everything you may need. I’m a classic over packer. There are a few items that I include every time I travel, even if it’s a quick weekend trip, though. My “Refresh Mommy” list.

1. One thing you don’t want to skimp on is your skin care routine! Most likely on vacation you’ll have a little extra time to pamper yourself, and actually spending the time to follow all of the steps in your skin care routine will make you feel so good. Who doesn’t want to feel relaxed and have glowing skin on their trip?! I recommend Air Repair’s Travel Kit. (You can find my full review on it here.) They cover all skincare essentials in one convenient little tote, and the products are all small enough for your carry-on!

The products are also fit for any climate and are for any skin type. So doesn’t matter if you’re in the snowy mountains or on a sunny beach, you can use these products. Take those extra few minutes each evening and make it a spa-like experience! It will help relax you before bed and hopefully you’ll wake feeling well rested.

2. I never take a trip without a new book to begin! Reading helps me shut my mind off and stop thinking about everything that I need to do, forgot to do, etc. And though I often don’t finish the book on my vacations, it still gives me something to look forward to when I get back home. A book is the best thing for a drained mommy to pack in her bag. Relaxing your mind is just as important as relaxing your body. I haven’t begun it yet, but Big Little Lies is next up on my reading list! I’ve heard nothing but good things!

3. Stylish sunglasses and a big hat. Okay, okay, so it won’t actually relax you to wear cute sunglasses and to wear a hat, but doing so will always make you feel like you’re in vacation mode. Plus they raise the bar of any outfit that you wear with virtually no extra effort so you’ll feel stylish and cute! Which is a must for any trip! If anything they’ll at least mask the dark circles and wrinkles that you earned from all of those nights waking up with your precious angels. I mean, that’s why I wear sunglasses.

These sunglasses are from my new Sol Theory subscription box, which basically just sends me a new pair of a different style each month. {Using my code BLUSHING301 on their website will earn you 20% off your first box.} So far I am loving the fact that I don’t have to choose them myself, because who has time anymore to go try on 30 pairs of sunglasses? They come right to my door, and they’re very reasonably priced! (12.99 for good quality sunglasses. Can’t beat that!)

4.At least one pre-mom outfit should be in your suitcase! You know, the one that you used to wear on dates on the weekends? The one that made you feel good about yourself and didn’t have stains on it from God knows what? Yeah, that one. Pack it! Better yet, fill your entire suitcase with outfits like that! Dress up. Moms can forget how nice it feels to spend time getting yourself dolled up for a night on the town.

It will make you feel young and excited to show off for your husband! Don’t forget the strappy heels that you may have forgotten how to walk in! It will make you feel like yourself again. It’s very refreshing from a mental standpoint.

What do you HAVE to have with you on your trips? Leave it in the comments!
