I am always on the lookout for new masks to start using. I believe you need several different types of masks to accommodate your different skin care needs. A lot of times your skin is constantly changing, especially with the seasons and different environments. So that means finding the right skin care routine for every time your skin evolves.
Right now my skin has kind of been all over the place. I had a baby 4 months ago so my skin has been breaking out a lot due to hormone fluctuation, and not to mention super oily from this summer heat. Since I’m breast feeding I have had to be super careful what I put on my skin, and one thing that I found that has helped me out a lot these past few months has been masks.
The masque I’m really into right now is Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque made with Amazonian White Clay.
It goes on super smooth and dries fairly quick so it’s not one that you have to leave on for like 10 minutes, which is awesome for me because I don’t have a ton of time to dedicate right now. I have only used it a few times so far. I discovered it in a Birchbox I got several months ago and it’s a tester size. One thing I can say is that a little bit goes a long way, so I think I can get at least 2 more uses out of it. Normal retail price is $16 for a 1 oz jar, and $30 for 5 oz. I assume that could last several months, especially if you’re only using it once or twice a week.
It’s made with Aloe Vera and Oatmeal which helps to sooth and smooth the skin. The White Clay is meant to draw out impurities like dirt and oil, and clear the skin of toxins.
Kiehl’s website states that “Amazonian Clay helps purify and detoxify skin. This clay is known to remove bacteria, toxins, excess oil and dead cells that can clog skin and result in enlarged pores.”
Personally I believe it really works. After just one use the few pimples that I had on the surface of my skin had already lessened in redness and cleared the very next day! At this stage in my life this masque has made the top of my list. If you suffer from acne, breakouts, or oily skin I recommend you try this out twice a week and see how it can help you.
I’ve wanted to try this for the longest but I’m afraid it isn’t really for sensitive skin… Anyway great post!
